This week in Instructional Technology 486 we have been working on compiling our resumes. I've always struggled with building a resume because there are so many conflicting resources as to what kind of information you need to have on your resume. Obviously, a resume should have the basic information such as, personal contact information and current and former employers. But what other information should be included?
While updating my resume, I searched "resume templates" within Google Docs. A plethora of templates returned from said search. To no surprise, the resume template is the "hottest" searched item within Google Docs' templates.
The template I chose was easy to download and edit. I just "copied" and "pasted" information from my old resume. The template gave my personal resume a fresh and updated look. It also guided me in including relevant additional information about myself that may aid me in the pursuit of a job one day. Another advantage is that it is stored in my Google Docs, therefore, I won't have to search my computer for the numerous versions I have of old resumes.

This is my digital movie with photos from my Galapagos Island Trip in the winter of 2007. We traveled to the islands of Baltra, Santa Fe, Espanola, Floreana, and Santa Cruz/Puerto Ayora. We were on a 60ft sailboat with 12 other passengers, including the crew. The photos exhibit just a sample of the fauna we saw while visiting the islands for the seven days we were there.
The video was composed using Apple's iMovie HD. It was a little frustrating to work with overall, but I was very please by the way my iMovie files transferred back and forth between my older version of iMovie and the version available in the computer lab at school.
The music is from an acquaintance in Asheville, NC. Listen to more of his music on his MySpace page.
